Regulations of the 16th International Youth Festival of Information Technologies “IT-Arkhangelsk”

1. General provisions

The International Youth Festival of Information Technologies “IT-Arkhangelsk” (hereinafter referred to as the Festival) is a unique project that is held to consolidate the intellectual and creative youth interested in modern information technologies.

2. The organizers of the Festival

2.1. Northern Arctic Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Higher School of Information Technologies and Automated Systems

2.2. Expenses for the preparation and organization of the Festival events are covered by the organizers. External companies can be involved in financing of the Festival's events and their presentation in mass media. Travel expenses of non-resident participants of the Festival are covered by the sending organizations.

3.2 Contest of IT-projects in multimedia technologies
3.3 IT-Career Day
3.4 Hackathon/ on-campus contest supervised by a partner organization (regulated separately)
3.5 Intellectual and educational part of the Festival (intensive courses, workshops, etc.)
3.6 Contests in robotics and automation of technological processes (regulated separately).
4. Information support
Information support is provided by means of the ‘IT-Arkhangelsk’ website (hereinafter referred to as the Festival website) http://itfest.narfu.ru.

Team contest in programming

5. General Provisions

The Contest is one of the main events of the Festival and is held at the Higher School of Information Technologies and Automated Systems, NArFU

6. Contest goals

6.1. Stimulation of the youth interest to study classical computer science.
6.2. Revealing of the most talented students and schoolchildren to solve programming tasks.
6.3. Preparation for participation in the International Collegiate Programming Contest.
6.4. To attract the employers’ attention to the educational process in the sphere of IT.

7. The working language of the Contest
Russian, English
8. The prospective participants of the Contest
Students of Russian and foreign institutions of primary and secondary vocational education, higher education institutions (full-time form of attendance).
9. Participation procedure
Registration of participants of the Contest starts on November 01, 2019 and will last until December 08, 2019 on the Festival website: http://itfest.narfu.ru (see Annex No. 1). A test tour of the Team Contest will be held on December 13, 2019. Team Contest will be held on December 14, 2019.
One educational institution can nominate not more than 3 teams to participate in the Contest, with the exception of the host institution.

11. The results of the Contest
Winners of the Contest are awarded diplomas of the I, II and III degree. All participants are provided with certificates. Awarding ceremony will take place on December 14, 2019 in Northern Arctic Federal University (Arkhangelsk).

Contest of IT-projects in multimedia technologies

12. The Contest goals
12.1 Stimulation of the youth’s interest and creativity development in the sphere of modern multimedia technologies.
12.2 Exchange of experience in multimedia projects development.
12.3 Promotion of creative and scientific achievements of the youth and academia.
12.4 Increasing the level of artistic culture of the society.
13. Prospective participants
Students of Russian and foreign institutions of secondary education, primary and secondary vocational education, higher education institutions aged from 14 to 25 years.
14. Procedures of participation in the Contest
14.1. Registration of the Contest participants is carried out on 1-30 November 2019. The participants are asked to fill in the registration form on the Festival website: http://itfest.narfu.ru (see Annex No. 3).
14.2. The participants should provide a link to the Contest project, which can be located on one of the file hosting services such as Yandex.Disk, Файлы@Mail.ru, DropBox, Google Drive.
14.3. The project should meet the requirements of the Contest indicated below.
15. Requirements for the projects of the Contest
Individual participants and teams of up to three people can make projects. Each author or a group of authors may submit no more than five projects (series) for each of the nominations. In this case, a series of projects should contain no more than 15 separate works logically connected by a storyline. A project can be introduced in only one nomination. The jury will not consider projects that participated in previous contests, as well as the winners of other contests.
The projects must meet the technical requirements (see Annex No. 4). In case the project does not meet the requirements, the Organizers reserve the right to withdraw the work from the Contest.
16. Nominations of the Contest
The Contest is held within the following nominations:
• Web design;
• Two-dimensional raster graphics;
• Two-dimensional vector graphics;
• Two-dimensional animation (evaluated within two age groups: from 14 to 18 years old, from 19 to 25 years old);
• Three-dimensional graphics;
• Authoring category “Chess composition” (separate regulations - see Annex No. 5).
In case of discrepancy between the content of the project and the declared nomination, the Organizers reserve the right to consider the project in another nomination.
17. Results
The projects evaluation starts on  December1, 2019. The results of the Contest will be announced on December 14, 2019 and published on the Festival website.
Winners of the Contest are awarded with diplomas of I, II, III degree and prizes. The electronic certificates will be issued to the participants upon request. The awarding ceremony will take place on December 14, 2019 in Arkhangelsk.
18. Special conditions
The Organizers reserve the right of non-commercial usage of the projects sent for participation in the Contest.

 

IT-CAREER DAY OF THE HIGHER SCHOOL OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AND AUTOMATED SYSTEMS

19. General information

IT-Career day is one of the main events of the Festival programme and will be hosted by NArFU Higher School of Information Technology and Automated Systems on December 13, 2019 at 13.00 - 16.00 p.m.
The IT-Career Day is aimed at facilitation of collaboration between the youth, academia, regional authorities and business in the sphere of IT on national and international level.
Within the framework of the “Career day”, the participants can learn about the career opportunities in Russian and foreign IT labour market.
